Mailroom Technician // Computer Operator
Job Overview:
Assists with printing and manufacturing of mail, including setting up miscellaneous print jobs, loading paper into and maintaining printing equipment, and assisting with other mailroom tasks as needed.
This job will produce variable data and statement mailings as well as newsletters, postcards, flyers, and other printed media, then pass them on to the rest of the team to be processed and mailed.
Fluency with basic computer concepts such as the Windows file system, the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Word, Outlook and Excel), and PDFs are very important for this position, as is a constant attention to detail.
Also occasionally assists with other mailroom tasks as-needed, such as folding and inserting letters into envelopes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Works with other members of the team to ensure that incoming jobs are printed and processed for mailing in a timely manner.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive customer data at all times.
Must be able to learn a variety of established computer processes to complete each job as assigned.
Attention to detail and fluency in basic computing concepts a MUST.
Must be able to prioritize and work on tasks as they are received.
Able to ensure that jobs are correctly set up and printed on the correct paper stock and size.
Ensures that printing equipment is properly working and maintained by fostering a good relationship with technicians.
Qualifications:
High-school diploma or GED required.
No college degree or special certifications required, but they will be considered.
No previous technical experience necessary; job training will be provided.
Must be able to follow established computer processes (copy and paste files, print and manipulate PDFs and other data) with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
Computer technician or programming experience is a major plus, as is any commercial printing experience.
Must be able to kneel and bend at the waist multiple times daily to load paper, clear paper jams from machines, and reload toner.
Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other members of the team; self-motivated attitude is a major plus in this position.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting salary between $32,000
– $36,000 yearly depending on qualifications and experience.
Retirement / 401k plan available.
Insurance stipend of up to $300 to acquire personal health coverage.
