The Journeyman Lift Mechanic position at Steamboat Ski & Resort would prefer applicants have at least one year of lift operator experience or one season as a lift maintenance assistant. A solid mechanical/electrical aptitude with a valid drivers license are also required.
Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
Conduct all maintenance activities required to assure safe and reliable operation of the area’s lift system and associated equipment
Conduct daily, monthly and weekly winter operational inspections of assigned lift equipment according to prescribed inspection guidelines
Perform daily decisions to assist in and perform basic preventative maintenance activities to the area’s tramway system
Works with lift supervisors with regard to the safe and efficient operations of the tramway
Duties and responsibilities split between field and shop environment
May work nights and weekends
May work on lifts and/or gondola
Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
High school diploma required
One-year lift operator or one season experience as a lift maintenance assistant preferred
Must have a solid mechanical/electrical aptitude
Must interact positively with co-workers
Must operate a snowmobile
Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current Drivers license; a successful motor vehicle record background check is required.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRCs Service Excellence standards.
Adhere to all safety policies
Physical Requirements:
Must work in extreme heights, climbing towers etc.
Must read and write in the English language
Must tolerate extreme weather conditions (snow, cold, wind, etc.)
Must walk on uneven terrain
Must lift 75 lbs. at various heights and/or uneven terrain
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporations total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $16.00 – $26.00 per hour
