Health Outlook is looking for a laboratory technician in our Branford, CT location, to join our team. We are a rapidly expanding startup company aiming to leverage modern proteomic tools and powerful biomarkers for aging and disease. We seek to shift the focus of modern medicine from reactive care to proactive intervention with the goal of saving lives. We are specifically building proprietary algorithms to predict adverse health events based on traditional risk factors and blood biomarkers. [SN1] You will be responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory. The role will comprise three stages. In the beginning stage, you will work closely with a supervisor to develop and validate a low-complexity proteomic platform to quantify the levels of a few biomarkers of interest. During the second stage, you will run our lab developed tests on patient blood samples we receive from our partners and clients. In the final stage, you will continue to carry out stage two duties and additionally aid in the adaptation of a next-generation proteomic platform to expand the scope of our biomarker test. Additional duties include regulatory and compliance responsibilities[SN2] , registration and recording of lab work, ordering supplies, and occasionally helping with administrative tasks.
Testing Personnel are responsible for the day-to-day technical processes that include specimen processing and handling, analysis, and test result reporting. The laboratory director must authorize those processes and procedures that the individual may perform based on technical skill level, education, training and or experience.

· Accurate execution of the laboratory’s policies and procedures for specimen handling, test performance, test results reporting and maintenance of associated documentation.
· Participation in the proficiency testing program.
· Adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control policies and completing the required documentation for instrument and procedural calibrations, verifications, and maintenance.
· Initiating and documenting corrective actions when test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
· Identity problems that may adversely affect test performance, test result reporting quality and notification of the appropriate personnel.
