Rays decades of experience in the commercial maritime industry as the founder of Maritime Health Services and Global Medical Services, and Dr.

Anns extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, Occupational Health, remote medicine and telemedicine, Discovery Health MD is changing the paradigm for delivering care in remote environments.

The Role

As Lab Technician 1 you will process point of care samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing.

You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests recording findings in an electronic medical record.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g., pathogens or chemicals).

They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward.

The goal is to optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.

Responsibilities

* Receive, label, and analyze samples (nasal and nasopharyngeal samples)
* Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings

* Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions
* Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
* Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
* Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment
* The environment for employees is safe from physical, chemical, and biological hazards and safety and biohazard requirements are followed;

Requirements

* High school diploma is required but an Associate or bachelor’s degree in Science/Biology/Chemistry or related field is preferred
* Proficient in computer software systems including MS Office and MS Excel
* Excellent motivational skills and works will with a team but also able to work alone
* Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize

* Demonstrated excellent organizational and planning skills.

Able to problem-solve effectively
* Ability to effectively communicate complex clinical and technical information, both oral and written
* Ability to pay strong attention to detail
