Infrared Field Technician

SEAM Group is growing! We’re looking for an Infrared Field Technician to add to our team. This position is 90-100% travel and you get to travel on OUR dime! Full travel accommodations are covered as well as per diem and we try our best to give two consecutive days off per week.

About the job:
You will evaluate and monitor the condition of our client’s electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, using an infrared camera. This could include vibration data collection, ultrasound testing (high voltage electrical, compressed air, steam systems, and mechanical systems). In this role, you will work at SEAM Group’s diverse client facilities including leading software development companies, big-box distribution centers, and more. All with one mission in mind, to help us create a safer more reliable world.
Infrared Field Technician Everyday Activities:

• Compliance with SEAM Group Electrical Safety PPE policy.

• Perform infrared inspection of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.

• Perform a visual inspection of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.

• Opening live electrical equipment to expose energized connections.

• Managing contracted electricians on client sites.

• Cooperating with client personnel on the client site.

• Advise clients on techniques to mitigate issues uncovered during the inspection.

• Use proprietary software tools supplied by Seam Group.

• Complete expense reports in a timely fashion.

• Book hotels, flights, and car rentals for work travel.

• Ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record.

• Perform any other duties and projects as assigned.

About you:

• A strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear up to Category 4 Personal Protective Equipment while on the job.
• Ability to pass the Seam Group Level I Thermography course.
• Basic computer skills in current software platforms, as well as the ability to work with mobile devices, such as laptops/tablets, are required.
• Ability to speak and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to behave in a professional fashion to enhance customer confidence in our company.

Do you have the following?

• Valid Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Computer literacy, familiar with windows programs and Microsoft office tools.
• Well-developed interpersonal communication skills with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Electrical experience
• Thermographic camera experience
• Vibration Level 1 certification
• Rotating and/or reciprocating equipment repair experience as a mechanic craft worker
• Desire to continuously improve skills as an analyst
