REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Engineer SCOPE: Upkeep of electrical distribution system and panel boards.
General upkeep of all plant property and equipment.
PPE: Ear protection in high noise areas, safety belt, gloves, goggles, and other equipment needed to perform the job safely TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: general hand and power tools, volt-ohm-millimeters, digital millimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.
Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.

Duties: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Plan, lay out, install and repair of a wide variety of complex electrical and electronic equipment including automatic machine and process controls, switch boards, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic controls (including alarm/communication systems, DC and AC drives, and other equipment involving tube or transistor circuits).
Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLC systems and other automated electronic control systems.
Establish secondary distribution centers and balance loads.
Lay out wire complex wiring circuits with a large number of connections.
Diagnose problems and detect defects in control modules and circuit boards, replace/repair parts as needed, test, and make appropriate adjustments.
Prepare wiring diagrams to record changes made.
Plan and lay out work for one or two lower classified electricians and electronic maintenance technicians.
Assist HVAC mechanics with maintenance of controls.
Report any problems in electrical workflow to supervisor.
OTHER JOB ELEMENTS: Perform other duties as needed to complete job or as assigned by the supervisor.
Clean up after each maintenance activity using good housekeeping standards.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB: Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic math skills in the English language.
Knowledge of blueprint reading, National Electrical Code, instrument measuring, labor/material estimating/layout, theory of electronics, and AC/DC & three phase AC power distribution Good physical condition – heavy lifting required.
Experience Preferred: Electrical
– 3-5 years experience in manufacturing facility, control wire knowledge, Certification or License in Industrial Electric.
HVAC Experience.
Able to read electrical blueprints.
Versatility to work weekends and OT if needed.
Maintenance
– Knowledge/Experience of mechanical, electrical and HVAC.
Welding & Fabrication experience.
Blueprint reading.
Certification or License in Industrial Electric and HVAC.
Leadership experience.
Versatility to work weekends and OT if needed.
