Golden Pass LNG: Mechanical Technician

Job Summary / PurposeGolden Pass LNG, a joint venture of QatarEnergy & ExxonMobil, has an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Technicians at our Sabine Pass, TX location (approximately 10 minutes from Port Arthur, TX).

We are looking for team members that have a proven track record of providing support, have strong intrapersonal and communication skills, and are self-motivated and self-directed to be a part of our transformation from an import facility to the premier LNG exporter in North America.The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance duties as required for maintaining a safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of an LNG facility.

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a liaison with internal and external parties and will interface directly with Operations Supervision, Managers, Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Operators, Contractors and Vendors and uphold and ensure compliance with HSE and compliance standards for performance and behavior.Essential Duties / FunctionsTroubleshoot, inspect for detection of irregularities and malfunctions, and perform repairs on various stationary and rotating machinery and equipment such as positive displacement screw compressors, gear pumps, extruders, etc.Perform routine regular maintenance duties and routine preventative maintenance inspections and servicesAssembly and disassembly of critical rotating and reciprocating machinery according to layout plans using hand and power tools.Operate hoisting and lifting devices and/or contribute to lifting plan, job method statements and JHA development for critical activities.Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective partsRead blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.Carry out fault-finding and repair maintenance on Vendor Package Unity to rectify unit faults.Interpret and maintain machine condition monitoring systemsPerform maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systemsMaintain notification and work orders, initiate material reservation, technical report and time confirmation in computerized maintenance management system.Actively participate in all aspects of maintenance activities and provide input in meetings, planning, and strategy development and reviews.Complete LOTO procedure on equipment to assure equipment is inoperable and safe to work on.Assist Vendor Contractor on Gas Turbines and CompressorsConduct work group/safety toolbox briefings.Minimum RequirementsMinimum education required of the position.High School Diploma or GEDBachelor or Associate degree or relevant technical discipline or equivalent work experienceMinimum experience required of the position.Experience in petroleum or chemical manufacturing facility or an LNG facility is preferred.Must have a good basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic theory and application and be able to learn to use manuals and other resources to apply that knowledge in requirements of the job.Working knowledge of plant installations and specifications with experience in accepted industry procedures, safety and environmental policies.Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and/or steam preferred.Experience with Turbo Machinery, Large reciprocal compression, and large centrifugal compression equipment preferred.Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to create a strong team environmentSelf-starter with ability to work strategically under little directionAbility to focus on meeting/exceeding performance parametersStrong attention to detailsAny certificates, licenses, etc.
