Facilities Technician/ Painter

This is a Contract position in Rutland, VT posted January 8, 2022.

Company Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a (CMU) walls, drywall taping and finishing, wallcovering hanging, and wood furniture refinishing and repair.

In addition to the primary focus of paint and wood refinishing, this role will also be responsible for addressing and completing moderately complex facilities service calls and work orders, and with assisting senior construction technicians on construction-related tasks, and occasionally assisting with commercial furniture installations.

All work must be completed following all Bank safety requirements and protocols.

Painter/Wood Refinisher in our Facilities Management department.

This role will be responsible for the overall upkeep of the buildings surfaces to maintain the Banks high quality of standards.

Work shall include, but is not limited to, the painting and repair of drywall, doors (metal and wood), jambs Starting Salary Range: $44,000-$65,000 Key Activities: Painting and wood furniture refinishing will be a big portion of this employees job.

Painting will be required in both interior and exterior areas with occasional drywall taping, finishing, and sanding.

When construction related project labor resources are required, work could include, but is not limited to, overall building construction/demo, commercial furniture installation or modular carpet installation.

The chosen candidate will need to work independently yet work as a team when project demands call for reassignment and independently manage minor portions of projects by coordinating work with project lead.

The chosen candidate will need to focus on maintaining the buildings overall finish and implementing a schedule to maintain this level of finish.

The chosen candidate shall be motivated, demonstrate a strong initiative, and easily adapt to a changing, fast paced environment.

The candidate shall have the ability to effectively multitask, meet deadlines, and demonstrate an ownership of responsibilities.

Qualifications: Experienced commercial painter with 1-3 years of commercial experience High school education or GED.

Wood furniture repair and refinishing experience Experience with all phases of various construction-related assignments Ability to complete miscellaneous ad-hoc tasks, as assigned Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to read and understand manufacturers warnings, labels, instructions, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Ability to read and properly interpret floor plans and construction drawings Basic computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook (e-mail and calendar), Word, and Excel.

Strong attention to detail Strong customer service skills Good oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and use time efficiently to meet project deadlines Good ability to identify procedural improvements, make suggestions, and assist in implementing changes Availability to work weekend shift or overtime depending upon project or assignments Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
