SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position requires the candidate to be responsible for performing activities involving the assembling and integration of military and commercial systems including modification of military platforms.

JOB DUTIES:

The Engineering Technician IV performs activities involving the assembling and integration of military systems including modification of military platforms. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:

• Constructing or disassembling components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
• Following specific layouts, procedures, drawings, or scientific diagrams to construct, tear down, and/or package components and subunits of equipment.
• Read from electrical diagrams, build or repair wiring harnesses of different types and a variety of cables.
• Utilize basic hand tools and power tools for fabrication, drillings, cutting and prototyping
• Be able to understand and execute with technical or engineering documentation, written or verbal instructions, installation instructions, electrical diagrams, cable diagrams, hardware layouts and technical data packages.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• HS/GED with five years or more years of experience
• Practical knowledge of science or engineering.
• Technical support experience working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement.
• Experience pertaining to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Full DoD Secret Security Clearance. Active Secret Clearance preferred.
