Your role:
In your role as an Engineering Technician IV, you will directly support the Sensors Test Division with various weapon and missile systems in support of the Redstone Wide Engineering Support Services (RWESS) contract.
What you’ll do all day:
- Support Test Engineers with various types of testing to include: Infrared Data Collection, UAS/CUAS, Target Vehicle Operations, Aircraft Survivability, Sensors, LASERS, Radar, Force Protection Systems, and Integrated Base Defense.
- Assist with Network Installation and Management, Test Setup, Execution and Test Tear-down.
- Help develop requirements, procedures, and unique test methods. Support equipment maintenance and inventory (researching vendors to order new/replacement items, shipping of items/equipment to test locations, submitting purchase requests for items to be ordered).
- Assist Test Engineers in identifying technology gaps and developing equipment/instrumentation design requirements/specifications.

Minimum requirements for this position:
- 7 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 3 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area.
- Candidate must be willing to work outdoors up to 60% of the time regardless of weather conditions, to include hot/humid conditions, cold conditions, heights, and around ammunition and explosives.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Secret Security Clearance.
- Candidate must be able to come to work early, stay late, and work in shifts as testing schedule dictates.
- Candidate must be willing to work paid overtime hours and travel at least 30% of the year.
- Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Possess, or be capable of obtaining, a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Candidate must be both mechanically and electrically inclined.
- Candidate shall possess basic computer skills, to include the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to prepare informal test reports.
- Candidate must work well with others, have a strong work ethic, be a motivated self-starter, be well organized, and be on time to work.
Desired skills and experience for this position:
- Active Secret Security Clearance preferred.
- Prefer candidate currently possess an active Commercial Driver’s License.
- Prefer both mechanical and electrical experience in the testing of military weapon systems.
- Prefer experience in operation of target vehicles for test operations.
- Prefer experience with installation, termination and maintenance of fiber optic cable.
