Georgia-Pacific is seeking a safety-oriented individual to join our team as a 2nd Class Electrical and Instrumentation (E & I) Technician at our Crossett, AR. facility.This position creates value by supporting the operation and maintenance of Electrical, Instrumentation, PLC and DCS equipment. This position is a key resource to ensuring manufacturing operations run reliably thus maintaining production goals.The current rate for this position is $28.69 per hour. Employees hired for this position generally advance into the 1stClass E&I Technician role ($35.47) within one year of mill orientation and experience.The shift is 7:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday through FridayWhat You Will Do In Your RoleTroubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing DCS, PLC and HMI components, motors, A/C and D/C VFD’s, electrical circuits and MCC startersRepairing, replacing, and installing conduit, wiring and electrical equipmentTroubleshooting, calibrating, replacing, and installing instrumentation componentsTroubleshooting, calibrating, replacing, rebuilding, and installing control valvesReplacing, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution center breakersOperating HV switchesScanning energized electrical circuitry using infrared technologyWorking with the Process Control Engineering team to troubleshoot, repair, and replace controls communication networksTroubleshooting process upsetsWork in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environmentOperate mobile equipment to include; forklifts, man lifts, utility carts and other equipment as neededWork any shift, to include, but not limited to: rotating shifts, variable start times, evenings, weekends, holidays, call-outs and/or overtimePerform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to sixteen (16) hours in a dayThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:High school diploma or GEDAt least one (1) of the following:Two (2) years of technical school electrical and instrumentation training and at least three (3) years full-time experience as a journeyman electrical and instrumentation technician in the pulp and paper industry or a paper converting operationCompleted an electrical and instrumentation apprenticeship program with three (3) years of full-time experience as a journeyman electrical and instrumentation technician in the pulp and paper industry or a paper converting operationA minimum of five (5) years full-time experience as a journeyman electrical and instrumentation technician in a manufacturing or industrial environmentWhat Will Put You AheadExperience with power transformer and power distribution (23kv, 12.5kv, 4.16kv, 2.3kv, 480v)Experience with DCS configuration and programmingExperience with Modicon and Allen Bradley PLC programming and machine interfacesAble to read piping and instrumentation diagrams and mechanical / electrical drawingsExperience working with computers for record-keeping and documentation functionsElectrical maintenance experience in the pulp and paper industryOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
