A stimulating physics-oriented engineering R& D opportunity is now open in a science-focused small company.
Responsibilities will include hands-on contributions to the design and development of complex high-precision devices and systems utilizing electro-mechanical, cryogenic, and micro-turbine components, using a combination of experimental and numerical methods.
Responsibilities will also include assisting in design, assembly, manufacturing, documentation, and testing of production parts and modules.Minimum requirements: M.S.
or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering, or physics, plus a minimum of a year of manufacturing experience with a strong hands-on emphasis and CNC machining.
Studies or experience must include electromagnetics, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, and technical writing.
Additionally, the following (somewhat in order of significance) would be a plus: machine shop practice, electronics, NMR, computer programming, engine mechanics, brazing, welding, CFD, cryogenics, materials science, and 3D design software.This is an entry-level full-time position for several long-term NIH-funded projects.
