WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We need Entry, Intermediate, and Master Diesel Mechanics. Your main goal is to ensure our fleet of transporters are always available. As part of this role, you will be ensuring preventative maintenance and general repairs are completed in a timely manner and up to Carvana standards. The qualifying candidate must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented, energetic, they must enjoy helping people, and must have the ability to interact/ communicate with all levels of the organization.

Diesel Tech Level 1 – $18-$24 / hr

Requirements

  • 6 Months – 1 Year In Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry Or Experience In Similar Industry
  • Must Have Their Own Hand Tools To Complete Daily Task (Specialty Tools Will Be Provided)
  • Must Have No More Than Two Moving Violations In The Last Three Years Or DUI
  • General And Preventative Maintenance; Including Brake And Tire Repair
  • Light Diagnostics, Troubleshooting And Electrical Work
  • Receive And Review Daily Inspections Of All Heavy Equipment Used And Resolve Issues Or Scheduled Repairs
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance For Equipment; Inspect All Equipment And Detect Excessive Wear
  • Must Be Flexible With Shift And Training Schedules
  • Hiring Is Contingent On Passing A Complete Background Check And Drug Screening

Diesel Tech Level II – $24-$30 / hr

Requirements

  • 1+ year in Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry or experience in similar industry
  • One ASE Certification within the first 6 months of employment
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check and drug screening
  • General and preventative maintenance; including diagnostic testing, routine maintenance and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
  • Resolve issues from inspections or scheduled repairs to include changing brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic components.
  • Complete preventative maintenance for equipment and inspect equipment to detect excessive wear
  • Responsible for parts inventory and equipment provided to complete the duties outlined for position
  • Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on assets using Maintenance Software

Diesel Tech Level III – $30 – $35 / hr

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Heavy Duty Mechanical Industry
  • 2 ASE Certifications with in the first 6 months of employment
  • Must have their own hand tools to complete daily task (Specialty tools will be provided)
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check and drug screening
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance such as Lube Oil & Filter (LOF), DOT Inspections, Testing batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning
  • Service vehicles to maintain functionality.
  • Resolve issues from inspections or scheduled repairs to include electrical systems repairs, brake systems repairs, transmission repairs, hydraulic components & replace worn-out parts
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices and then repair
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems
  • Weld or fabricate broken parts and structural members using welders, torches & plasma cutters

Foreman – $35 – $40/ hr

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Heavy Duty Mechanical Industry
  • Two ASE Certifications with in the first 6 months of employment
  • Must have their own hand tools to complete daily task (Specialty tools will be provided)
  • Must have no more than two moving violations in the last three years or DUI
  • Resolve issues from inspections or scheduled repairs to include electrical systems repairs, brake systems repairs, transmission repairs, hydraulic components & replace worn-out parts
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices and then repair
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems
  • Weld or fabricate broken parts and structural members using welders, torches & plasma cutters
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check and drug screening
  • The Foreman/Master Mechanic will report to the Maintenance Manager, Logistics and will be an hourly full-time position. Some travel may be required. Less than 10% of time
