Consumer Laboratory Technician

• Responsible for research of textile and hardlines products and generating color matching reports for Consumer clients. Provides feedback to management regarding laboratory procedures and testing issues.  Trains other staff in specific test methods.
• Compares items pulled from clients to establish standards on file
• Demonstrate ability to concentrate on the job at hand
• Ability to learn to use precision equipment under little supervision
• Working alone producing results for analysis
• Basic functionality of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word)
• Ability to work under strict deadlines, some overtime may be requested
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work habits must include attention to detail, accuracy, and orderliness
• Communication skills, written and verbal among team members (including internal customers), should be excellent
• Work within company laboratory to prepare samples, conduct testing, and document results
• Understanding of product standards, specifications, and test methods
• UL has COVID-19 protocols and policies in place. Business related travel on behalf of UL requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

• Must pass Color Perception Test with superior discrimination (score 16 or lower) on the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test.
• Some University education in a related discipline and four years of related experience is preferred. 
• May be required to stand for long periods of time.
