Garmin
We are seeking a full-time Cartography Technician 1 at our world headquarters in the Kansas City area.
In this role, you will be responsible for the attribution, processing and maintenance of cartographic data.
Participate in the evaluation of map data and execution of Quality Assurance processes on maps produced for use in GARMIN products.
Other essential functions include:

tExecutes tasks as directed by Team Lead or mentor

t
tEdit, manipulate and maintain geographic data using custom and 3rd party software
t
t
tEnsure the application of appropriate cartographic specifications to the data
t
t
tHelp evaluate and process database updates according to established methodology
t
t
tConduct testing and evaluation of Garmin cartography products
t
t
tPerform established operations for quality assurance
t
t
tFundamental understanding of Garmin’s Cartography development process
t
t
tDemonstrates ability to complete well defined basic tasks
t
t
tIdentifies and resolves basic issues/risk using proper cartographic techniques
t
t
tLearns, understands and applies established processes to daily tasks
t
t
tFollow specific, detailed instructions
t
t
tFunction both as a team member and as an independent professional
t
t
tPerform other job-related duties as assigned
t
t
tMaintains focus on continuous improvement
t
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in cartography or geography from a four year college or university or 4 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description.
