Building Maintenance-DH (Cordova)

Role and ResponsibilitiesPrimarily responsible for performing routine and extensive maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, dock, mechanical equipment and utility systems.Specific Duties:* Trains develops, advises, hires, assigns work, evaluates and when necessary disciplines subordinate personnel. Schedules and assures adequate staff coverage is provided* Performs minor and major repair of all buildings, docks equipment, utilities, furnishings and grounds* Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; assembles installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of water, heating, steam and drainage systems.* Constructs installs and repairs structures and fixtures composed of wood, metal, wallboard and concrete; replaces broken windows and repairs doors* Assists with the renovation/remodeling if buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures* Maintains and repairs a variety of equipment including pumps, blowers and pressure and temperature regulators* Maintains oil fired hydraulic heating systems, steam heating system and related equipment* Operates light duty equipment* Trouble shoots and repairs basic electrical controls* Performs other related maintenance and miscellaneous duties assigned by immediate supervisor* Responds to emergency maintenance as required* Maintains effective safety procedures with the buildings for confined space entry, on site chemicals, OSHA regulations, proper machinery lockout and tag out procedures for machinery maintenance and cleanup* Maintains inventory and orders parts required for the plant maintenance and building repair* Performs outside duties such as snow removal as requiredPhysical Requirements* Ability to lift minimum 75 lbs., have strength and endurance, motor skills and range of motion to effectively manage production workload* Good skill in the use of hands and power tools* Be able to pass the forklift training testQualifications and Education Requirements* Requires completion of or equivalent of four (4) years of high school and/or trade school and two (2) years if responsible experience in building maintenance and repair field* Valid driver’s License (Alaska Preferred)Additional NotesWestward Seafoods is an equal opportunity employer.
