Since 2009 Evonik Industries AG has been certified as a family-friendly company by the German Hertie Foundation.Click here to learn more about Evonik from our employeesThis position is responsible to promote and maintain the principles of and responsibilities related to Safety, Environmental Systems, and Responsible Care within his/her assigned areas of responsibility.RESPONSIBILITIES* Conduct lubricant testing by various standard- (i.e. ASTM D7258)- and specialized test methods.* Operate standard and specialized equipment involved in a particular laboratory.* Accurately prepare experimental lubricant blends from supplied recipes for evaluation.* Conduct tests where subjective judgment is required to evaluate quality and significance of results.* Record data and observations and maintain an up-to-date laboratory notebook.* Occasional overtime or weekend work as required.REQUIREMENTS* Some laboratory experience (3 years minimum), or an associate's degree in science discipline with some laboratory experience, or a non-chemistry/chemical engineering BS.* Ability and willingness to conduct Daily Hazard Analyses and safely handle laboratory quantities of hazardous chemicals in compliance with written Chemical Hygiene Plan.* Willingness to take ownership of tasks and ability to work in an environment that includes both routine and specialized tasks, and commitment to customer deadlines.* Accurately conduct arithmetic and simple algebraic calculations.* Ability to effectively use standard office and laboratory software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, various lab instrument software), and to access and manipulate data within appropriate databases.* Ability to safely lift loads up to 40 lbs.Your ApplicationTo ensure the fastest process of your application and to protect the environment, please apply online via our careers portal at https://careers.evonik.com.VACANCY REFERENCE NUMBER 123942Evonik Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
