Analytical Lab Technician – $18 Per Hour (Non-degreed)

Description: Position will start out primarily doing sample prep.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare analytical and customer samples in the analytical laboratory.
•Archive analytical samples.
•Clean the sample prep area and maintain consumables in the area
•Carry out routine maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of equipment in the sample prep area
•Other related duties.
OTHER RESPONSIBLITIES (may include):
•Measure samples on Wet Density equipment.
•Measure particles in dissolved samples using a liquid particle analyzer.
•Measure resistivity using a four-point probe
•Measure surface roughness using an Interferometer.
•Measure samples using Spark Source Spectrometer.
•Measure samples using Leco gas analyzers.
•Measure samples on X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) equipment.
Skills: chemistry, lab tech, analytical Additional Skills & Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience operating band saw, drill press, and other powered equipment.
•Experience with manual lathe or milling machine.
•Willing to work with acids, solvents, and compressed gases.
•Computer literate
– must be comfortable using computers and able to learn new software packages.
•Must pay good attention to detail, be well organized, and have an ability to organize own work schedule based on the work to be done.
•Ability to communicate well with people inside and outside the immediate work area.
•Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
•Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
