The Boeing Company is looking for an Aircraft Technician that is located in Ridley Park, PA.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform service, repairs and overhauls of aircraft to ensure airworthiness
- Build and install mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies for aircraft
- Test, develop tool harnesses, troubleshoot and repair installed electrical and radio systems using automatic checkout equipment
- Build major mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using assembly drawings, specifications, shop orders, and precision measuring instruments
- Assemble and/or install partial or complete mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, electrical systems, and components in airframes
- Install, connect, and troubleshoot systems in aircraft
- Perform assembly operations; press and stake bearings and bushings, install and shim small gears, drill and ream holes, rig controls, and balance completed assemblies
- Fabricate, swage, and install tubing, hoses, and master tube templates for production use; build temporary templates to check master contours, dimensions, and assemblies
- Compile operational sheets and bend allowance charts for master tube templates
- Install auto flight, communication, navigation, and interphone equipment
- Conduct functional inspections of all installed systems
- Diagnose malfunctions, and perform adjustments and repairs
- Perform work in accordance with prints, specification and other specified documents
- Adhere to Company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practice
- Provide instruction to employees designated to assist with the above duties
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience with aircraft systems installation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in defining manufacturing and assembly plans for machining and fabrication of parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
- 1-3 years’ experience with subassemblies
Typical Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/GED and/or vocational/trade school training.
- Typical experience is a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the assembly of mechanical aircraft parts or equivalent. Requires the ability to read, write and follow verbal or written instructions
Other Relevant Information and Requirements:
- This is an hourly position governed by the UAW Collective Bargaining agreement
- The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
- This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
