Aethercomm is looking to fill an RF Test Technician position.Scope: The purpose of this procedure is to establish and define the functional role, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and measurements of performance of the RF Test Technician at Aethercomm.Aethercomm offers employees two shifts:First Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm and Second Shift: 3:30pm – 12:00am.Aethercomm offers additional compensation to non-exempt employees who are scheduled on a regular basis to work during the evening and/or night shift.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.Perform complex set-up, calibration, testing, and fault isolation of circuits, components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.Optimize RF modules to meet specified requirements.Ability to manually utilize all test equipment (i.E., VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter, function generator, and oscilloscope).Complete test data sheets and detailed failure reportsWork from test procedures, assembly drawings, parts lists, and TDRs.Perform Final Quality Assurance Testing on units.Ensure accuracy and quality of work in a fast-pace environment.Ensure personnel safety procedures are followed at all times and/or highlight and raise concern to the appropriate personnel if safety hazards are found.Ensure that the policies and practices of the Aethercomm Employee Handbook are followed within the department.May provide work training for junior level test technicians.Maintain close security and protect the company’s assets from damage, including test equipment and tools.Check email regularly and respond appropriately.A solid understanding of the RF and DC testing that is completed in support of production hardware.Must be able to make independent judgment and be detailed oriented.Hands on experience on RF/Microwave testing and be familiar with measurement of Psat, P1 dB, OIP3, PAE, noise figure, spurious and harmonic outputs.Hands on experience on soldering.Proficiency in bench trouble shooting of test set up.Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.All other duties assigned.Competencies:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Must be able to read drawings and BOM’s and be able to perform basic SMT soldering for repairs.Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school preferred; or five to ten years related experience in RF field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability:Ability to prepare written reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes.
Be able to clearly communicate and interact with the responsible engineers and the necessary production and manufacturing personnel to resolve production related issues within the program.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Computer Skills:Proficiency with Computer and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
