VP, Conferences Marketing

Description

The VP, Conferences Marketing role is in the Conferences organization within Gartner.

Our conferences are a core part of Gartner’s offering, providing an opportunity for both clients and those new to Gartner to experience our insights, engage directly with our expert analysts and network with their peer groups.

Working closely with Program, Research, Customer Insights and Sales Teams as well as internal specialist Marketing Centers of Excellence, the Vice President of Conferences Marketing will own outbound marketing activities for a key, strategic business unit. 

Key responsibilities and Activities:

  • Build up and manage a high-performing Marketing team
  • Create and deliver successful integrated marketing strategies to deliver/exceed our commercial and strategic goals
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop compelling positioning and messaging for the portfolio
  • Communicate the value proposition of Gartner conferences internally to sales and service teams and develop collateral and sales toolkits to support the process
  • Work with the Customer Insights team to gather market intelligence on our clients and prospects, how they buy and their buying criteria; being the expert on our competition and how to win against them
  • Continually review and optimize marketing platforms to drive engagement and conversion
  • Contribute to the Marketing Global Leadership Team in the development of best practice and innovation

The successful candidate is a change agent, who is a highly innovative marketing leader who will positively impact the business through “best in class” marketing practices, talent development and inspiring leadership and collaboration.

They must be a strategic and metrics-driven marketing leader who has expertise in leading across marketing functions.

Job Requirements 

  • 10+ years of marketing experience in B2B sectors
  • Proven success implementing cutting-edge marketing practices with a customer-focused approach
  • Proven track record of leading teams, exceeding KPIs and delivering consistent revenue and customer growth
  • Strong financial acumen and a track record of exceeding marketing ROI
  • Strong leadership skills with a highly collaborative yet decisive approach
  • Strategic, analytical and tactical, creative and disciplined, enjoys working at the big picture and product pixel levels
  • Driven, self-starter; comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong people skills; able to build impactful relationships across functions
  • Highly accountable; takes ownership and drives sense of urgency
  • Impeccable presentation & oral communication skills
  • Ability/willingness to travel frequently
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA is a plus
