Reporting to the Global Industry Segment Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing applications marketing plans and go-to-market strategies in direct support of the Underwriters Labs (UL) Market for ABB’s Smart Power Solutions business.

You’ll support a wide range of applications including Intelligent Electrical Distribution systems, Arc Flash Mitigation, Transfer Switching, Motor Starting and Protection, Continuous Power, Power Quality, Switching and Protection.

You’ll leverage your knowledge of electrification and intelligent power management UL standards and market demand knowledge to generate ABB’s market penetration and positioning in this rapidly growing predominant market space.

Your responsibilities

Work closely with Global Product Groups, including Product Management and Global Marketing & Sales to assess, analyze, and forecast U.S.

and regional market demand for smart power applications while ensuring UL standards and code compliance

Support and help derive the definition of the unique value selling proposition for the UL market per respective application

Collaborate closety with Sales teams on learning voice of customer feedback to understand their journey in defining and configuring application for the UL market

Support and advise on strategic new application offering and business plans

Will support industry digital campaigns, trade shows and events and continue to nurture and promote positive partner relationships with customers, and channel partners

Provide guidance on all marketing collateral materials used to promote and educate customers on our applications, including, white papers, articles, application notes, case studies, etc.

Support Applications development for the UL Market; this includes electricals and digitals drawings, Bill of Materials, other marketing documentation, specific tests needed for validating the solution, trainings.

Feedback to GPGs Product management on new development needs

Monitors UL Competition around selected Applications

Ensure Product Group NEMA portfolio is properly positioned inside Applications development

Your background

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, (Electrical Engineering, Power systems preferred) is required with minimum 3-6 years of experience in technical product and marketing support to Electrification and Power system applications and products certified by UL within the U.S.

market

Prefer direct experience in helping the organization by growing U.S.

market share in the electrical distribution and power management systems applications UL Market is highly preferred

Strong problem-solving analysis skills required

Must have the ability to perform insightful competitive market demand analysis

Ability to develop relationships with key customers is required, as well as having proactive collaboration and internal cross-functional project team participation capabilities

Must possess excellent internal and external communication skills, both written and verbal

Six Sigma or equivalent training in process improvement and project management methodology is preferred

Experience with customer relations via service, visits, relationships, etc.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States

Must be able to travel up to 20-30% domestically in the U.S.
