Assistant Professor of Integrated Marketing Communications

Position Description

The School of Journalism & New Media at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Integrated Marketing Communications. The ideal candidate has a background in public relations, journalism, communications or promotion, and the ability to build strong strategic relationships that increase the profile of the integrated marketing communications program at the state, regional, and national levels. The development of a related research agenda is expected. Courses taught will be in the areas of public relations, promotional writing, reporting, and other related subjects.

Duties

  • Teach assigned courses and develop new ones as needed.
  • Be prepared to teach on-campus, off-campus, and online.
  • Attend state, regional and national conventions and other professional events. 
  • Perform departmental, college, and university-wide service.
Position Details

Appointment: 9 Month

Assignment Type: Tenure Track

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or all but dissertation completed at time of employment
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in media or communications
  • Successful teaching at the collegiate level
