POSITION: Yard Lead Worker
Pay Scale: $22 – $26 DOE

Operates a variety of mechanical forklifts and move materials, machines, or products in many directions. Tips out pipe, delivers pipe to patch lines, delivers pipe to storage areas from work areas, puts away equipment, delivers equipment to machines, and delivers raw materials. Lead mobile equipment crew.
Lead worker essential functions include:
Crew – The Lead worker is responsible for training and supervising the crew to:
• Understand what is expected of them and how to do it properly.
• Follow Company procedures and policies.
• Complete work as assigned in a safe and productive manner – no shortcuts.
• Use the company equipment as instructed.
• Be positive, show pride and have a “can do” attitude. Strive to develop teamwork culture
• Keep the work area, equipment and materials organized and clean.
• Report all “close calls” and correct poor work habits.
Product- The Lead worker is responsible for:
• Assigning production duties to each crewmember so products are produced on schedule.
• Monitoring the crew’s work to confirm they are doing the right things at the right time.
• Periodically inspecting products with crew for what is right and what needs improving.
• Reporting daily production to Supervisor.
Equipment – The Lead worker is responsible for:
• Confirming that all Company equipment, tools, forklifts, etc are used properly.
• Keep equipment clean and ready for production according to Company procedures.
Procedures – The Lead worker is expected to:
• Work alongside his assigned crew and be their immediate supervisor.
• Communicate directly with Plant Manager and Supervisor and follow management direction
• Help assigned crew get started correctly at the beginning of each day and after each break or lunch time. Monitor the length of all breaks and lunch periods.
• Confirm the crew has properly finished their work before they leave for the day.
• Understand and implement Company policies and procedures such as Plant Rules of Conduct, Safety Policy, and Drug and Alcohol Policy to confirm everyone is following them.
• Offer suggestions and forward suggestions from crew members.
• Keep all SAFETY procedures at the foremost of all operations.
Operation Essential Job Functions
• Move levers, depress foot pedals, or turn dials to operate cranes, cherry pickers, electromagnets, or other moving equipment for lifting, moving, or placing loads.
• Inspect cables or grappling devices for wear and install or replace cables, as needed.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Direct helpers engaged in placing blocking or outrigging under cranes.
• Load or unload bundles from trucks or move containers to storage bins, using moving equipment.
• Weigh bundles, using floor scales, and record weights for company records.
• Review daily work or delivery schedules to determine orders, sequences of deliveries, or special loading instructions.
• Direct truck drivers backing vehicles into loading bays and cover, uncover, or secure loads for delivery.
• Operate heavy production equipment such as cranes, forklifts, electrical hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
• Must be constantly alert to mobile equipment and machinery use.
• Must be able to comprehend and retain safety training programs.
Qualified candidates should possess the following knowledge, demonstrated skills, and abilities:
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred not required
Certifications: Forklift Certification preferred
