Tool Maker Helper – Great Benefits!

This is a Full-time position in Dayton, OH posted November 8, 2021.

There are multiple openings, courtesy of ProLink Resources, in the Dayton, OH area. This is a 1 st shift position with all benefits starting on day one ! This position is for a Toolmaker Helper , details listed below:

Shift: 1 st

Pay: $20 – $25/hr.

Responsibilities:

A ssist the Toolmaker, Group Leader, or others in manufacturing parts and building sub-assemblies and equipment.

-Take directives from the Toolmaker or Group Leader

-Assist during the assembly process of making primarily the mechanical portion of jigs, dies, fixtures, special machines, or subassemblies.

-Assemble electrical items under the direction of the Controls Lead Technician.

-Responsible for retaining the knowledge of machining/assembly techniques: demonstrated by Toolmaker or Group Leader.

-May be given their own jobs when they have proven the initiative and ability to move into a Toolmaker role.

-Pass any necessary training requirements to perform job duties such as: Forklift Training; Electrostatic Discharge Training; Cleanroom Work Instruction; Foreign Object Debris Prevention; Non-Conforming Materials Handling, Enhanced Glue Training, etc.

-Read and understand basic blueprints and willing to learn Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

-Operate basic tool room equipment such as: Prototrack mill , surface grinder, band saw, drill press and lathe.

-Use measuring tools such as: micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, etc.

-Inspect own workmanship prior to submitting to Quality Inspection.

-Work from both written and verbal directions and build components from sketches as well as drawings.

-Perform daily tasks as directed from the Toolmaker or Group Leader.

-Respect the experience of others around you as they offer their guidance to train you.

-Report poor fit conditions or workmanship which are critical to quality

-Perform specified bonding operations per outlined work instructions, complete samples and specified track and trace information.

-Travel with a Toolmaker to install and/or make repairs to equipment at the customer’s site when required.

-Adhere to all relevant ISO / AS guidelines and procedures, quality and workmanship standards, and all safety guidelines and regulations.

-Wear clean room garments & follow regulations whenever working in the clean room restricted areas.

-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

-May require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or sitting.

-Specific vision abilities are required by this job, which include; near sight, far sight, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Requirements:

Must Haves:

HS Diploma or GED.

Trade-related college courses or Certificates of Completion are desirable.

Two years of related experience and/or training preferred.

Must be able to move over 50 pounds when needed.

 

Plusses:

Good verbal communication skills

Have their own basic Toolmaker tools to work efficiently and effectively.

-Must show initiative to buy and make tools to perform their job duties without borrowing tools from others daily
