In addition to pediatric cardiology, Sunrise Children’s Hospital also features Nevada’s largest, most comprehensive 72-Bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and 14-bedinpatient pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), the only one of its kind in Nevada today.
The CICU is a 12,000 square-foot unit dedicated to the treatment of congenital heart defects, heart rhythm disturbances and heart disease in infants and children.As Las Vegas’ largest acute care facility (701 beds), Sunrise provides sophisticated inpatient and outpatient services to the community.

Unlock your potential here!Position Summary:The role of the masters prepared social worker is to perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments on hospitalized patients.
Based on that assessment, the social worker shall provide emotional support, education and coordinate appropriate resources to promote quality and continuity of care, as well as appropriate utilization of hospital resources.
The social worker will work in conjunction with nursing, physicians, case managers and ancillary hospital departments to assess the acute and post-hospital needs of the patients.
The social worker will coordinate resources and the delivery of services, which will allow the patient and family to function at an optimum level upon discharge.
The social worker shall demonstrate knowledge of social and physical factors that affect patients and knowledge of community resources to assist them while hospitalized as well as assist the patient/family with discharge from the hospital.
The social worker shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
The social worker shall possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify the needs of the patients and families.
The masters prepared social worker will provide consultation to bachelors prepared social workers.
The masters prepared social worker will participate in program development and process improvement and implementation.
