BXSI is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the Senior Workers’ Comp Claims Adjuster position in Little Rock, AR.

The Senior Workers’ Comp Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating and managing lost time and complex newly reported and existing workers’ compensation claims for our self-insured clients to reduce the direct and indirect costs associated with work related injuries and illnesses.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with clients and claimants
• Provide outstanding claims handling and customer service
• Coordinate and direct all outside service providers including legal counsel, occupational medical providers and all other ancillary cost containment service providers
• Manage reserves on claim files
• Analyze and investigate claims and report findings and recommendations to insured
• Meet and maintain all regulatory state filing requirements
• Maintain claim diary and notes system to provide appropriate documentation of activity and action plan
• Evaluate and maintain appropriate reserves on the claim file
• Evaluate subrogation possibilities
• Properly calculate indemnity benefits
• Reports to excess insurer when appropriate
• Evaluate for Medicare Secondary Payer criteria
• Facilitate and negotiate claim settlements/file closures
• Attend file reviews and/or Board meetings with our self-insured clients upon request
• Review all new losses for assigned clients, triage claim severity and assign to the appropriate level of adjuster for handling
• Serve as primary contact for specified clients, coordinating communications and resolving service issues

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Organizational and time management skills required
• Ability to work in a team environment required
• High attention to detail required
• Projects professional appearance and manner
• Ability to multi-task
• Appropriate active Adjuster’s license required
• Experience handling Arkansas workers’ compensation claims for either a self-insured (preferably) or fully insured employers required
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, claimants and staff
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
• Ability to stand or sit at a workstation during a standard workday
• Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer
