Sanitation Worker

This Sanitation Worker position will be ensuring the cleanliness of food contact and non-food contact areas of your workspace, at the Corning, CA location of a well-known food packaging company. The ideal applicant will be hard working, punctual, and attentive to detail. We are hiring immediately and job openings are filled rapidly.

No prior experience is required! We have hired individuals from all sorts of backgrounds including: manufacturing workers, production personnel, administrative assistants, retail associates, restaurant servers, forklift operators, and many more have transitioned smoothly into this or similar work environments.

Pay: $14/hr

Job Requirements:

Sanitation Preparation:

·       Prepares for duties by wearing rain gear, goggles, gloves and rubber boots

·       Enters and secures scrub brushes and pads from supply room and posting those items onto a supply usage list

·       Ensures proper usage of lockout/tagout requirements

·       Receives instructions on which bank of pitter machines to clean. (5 banks have 5 pitters and 1 bank has 7).

Cleaning Pitting Area:

·       Climbs 8 stairs to pitting deck and using a high pressure hose to wash any product off the platform area to the floor. High pressure hose emits extremely hot water.

·       Locks out power to pitting machine and removes machine cover that weighs about 20 pounds

·       Uses high pressure hose to rinse off all residual product

·       Applies cleaning foam from blue hose to entire machine and scrubs with scrub pads. And then rinses again with high pressure hose. Cleaning foam cannot dry on machines and must be rinsed off within 10 minutes.

·       Lifts and pulls off a grate at the rear, lower side of the pitting machine then reaches in to scrub inside walls of machine. Removes lock to restore power to machine when needed and move to next machine and repeat.

Belt Cleaning:

·       Locks out power source to belt and using a high pressure hose to rinse off any loose product.

·       Applies foam and scrubs belts with scrub pads.

·       Unlocks out power source to engage belt movement for the final rise

·       Uses hose to rinse belt when belt is moving

·       Uses high pressure hose, clean deck again including walls, mechanics table and take all supplies downstairs when finished.

Cleaning Underneath Machine:

·       Uses high pressure hose to rinse from top to bottom the underside of the pitting deck by stooping underneath area with moving belts. (Tight, low clearance)

·       Locks out power source and applies foam and scrubs frame work of the belts dropping any remaining product to the floor.
