Recently, McWane Ductile was awarded the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Award.This OSHA recognition is only achieved by 1% of the U.S manufacturing facilities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position 1: Melting Spare
– 1st Shift
Observing and maintaining magnesium, silicon, and chill material levels.
Additionally, change lime bags as necessary.
Pouring Iron
Weigh coke and lime before each charge, check the coke and lime scale.
Clean the cupola long runner.
Clean pig bed and transfer ladle pits and any other areas assigned by supervisor.
Work with supervisor if ladles need to be repaired before the production run.
Communicate supervisor/s on issues that arise.
Position 2: Casting Spare 1st Shift
Check the temperature of the iron hourly, remove slag from iron by utilizing skimmer.
Remove buildup from quad ladle as needed, in addition to keeping the ladle full always.
Ensure the trough is heated properly.
Maintain the maintenance of the trough by removing slivers, iron buildup, slag, and blackening.
Inspect machinery for mold defects.
Operate control panels to operate machinery.
Apply grease on spigot ring using a brush to spinning pipe mold.
Remove iron from spigot ring and spill tray.
Other duties that are assigned by supervisor/manager.
Position 3: Production Prepper 3rd Shift
In this position, the team member will be responsible for general labor job duties that include cleaning up the plant after the daily production or being a valued production team member.
Casting Area
Communicate with supervisor/s or specific production issues on cleaning certain areas of machines.
Ensure all machines are clean and ready for production time startups.
Example: Puller beds, machine beds, ladle areas, around machine walkways, and walkways between puller areas.
Ensure up and over area is clean.
Ensure ladles are on machines in a timely manner.
Need to meet time hacks to get fire on them for production machine startups.
Communicate with supervisor on specific tools and or equipment needed for cleanup tasks.
Finishing Area
Communicate with supervisor/s on certain tasks needed to be done from the production run outside of normal clean up duties.

Follow cleanup check sheets and hand to finishing department on a nightly basis.
Communicate all issues in a timely manner.
Communicate all work orders in a timely manner found in finishing departments.
