Plant & Facilities Project Engineer (Food Manufacturing)

This is a Contract position in Chilton, WI posted July 30, 2020.

Direct, coordinate and administer engineering functions and operations to maintain the physical structures, regular and stand by equipment, utilities, facilities and property and the arrangement of production machines and equipment.

  • Plan major projects, prepare estimates, obtain sub-contract quotes, and supervise critical operations involved.
  • Prepare space allocation, building renovation and project cost estimates. Initiate and plan projects for more effective utilization of space, equipment, and manpower.
  • Develop and implement program activities designed to enhance product flow to the operations, to the end customer and maintenance. This includes purchasing of required parts and services to support the same.
  • Continually monitor existing equipment and process technology and systematically upgrade internal capabilities as necessary and practical.
  • Assure utility system operation through regular inspection and preventative maintenance.
  • Direct Maintenance Supervisor (skilled trades and unskilled building service employees) in the maintenance of company building and grounds.
  • Direct and coordinate the maintenance of facility and facility equipment, the design and building of equipment and facility layout. Supervise and guide in the design and construction of equipment, buildings, and services.
  • Supervise the maintenance of records and documentation systems pertinent to the function.
  • Ensure conformity with safety regulations, use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), machine guards, etc.
  • Stay current with environmental regulations, investigate practices and procedures, and perform internal audits to determine if environmental standards are being met.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings.
  • Adhere to all government and company safety, sanitation and GMP policies and regulations.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in an engineering discipline and 7-10 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous project management experience. Knowledge of maintenance procedures and procedures also required. Previous supervision experience a plus. Related experience and/or training and with a working knowledge with Microsoft products.

  • 100% Preventative (No Deductible) / 80% Basic / 50% Major/Orthodontics (up to age 19)
  • Current Weekly Cost: Included in Health Cost

VISION INSURANCE

  • In-Network: $0 exam / $130 allowance for frames / $0 cost on lenses / $120 allowance for contact lenses
  • Current Weekly Cost: Included in Health Cost

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA)

  • Effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment
  • Deductions are taken pre-tax
  • Amount Allowed for Medical $2,750 per calendar year
  • Amount Allowed for Dependent Care $5,000 per calendar year
  • Up to $500 may be rolled over into the next year
