Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history.Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Tool Gauge Inspector 1 to support the Aerospace Structures Business Unit in Iuka, MS.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform in-process and final dimensional inspections using Laser Tracker System on tightly tolerance materials, components, subassemblies and final assemblies in the production areas. Performs required inspections in accordance with drawing, specifications, standard work and planning requirements. Supports customer source inspections. Documentation of non-conformances on materials, parts or processes. Reviews supplier paperwork, verifying material pass/fail criteria against engineering inspection requirements. Performs inspections on tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for conformance to design. Works closely with engineering to setup parts for machining. The ideal candidate enjoys seeing the big picture and influencing change across the site (engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and operations). You take initiative, work with limited direction, and enjoy leading small teams. You are comfortable on the manufacturing shop floor, and are highly trusted in your field of expertise.Travel is less than 10% and within the US.This is a rotating shift. Working hours are from 7-5:30 Monday-Friday with overtime as needed.Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma and 2 years of experience working in a highly technical aerospace/manufacturing environment.Ability to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipersAbility to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as requiredSuccessfully pass vision screen and color blindness testAs needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short noticeAble to lift up to approximately 25 pounds; may occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated experience interfacing with external and internal customersExcellent mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated ability to plan and organize work in order to accomplish multiple assigned tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
