Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II- 2nd shift
2nd Shift: 1:15pm – 9:45pm
Works under limited supervision on 2nd shift. Has achieved a high level of proficiency in performing all duties related to the set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of molds, tools, equipment and machinery used in the manufacture or packaging of medical devices. Supports Preventative Maintenance Program by completing required necessary preventative maintenance as needed. Leads the Team through detailed problem solving and mechanical repair expertise. Identifies proactive process improvements through equipment upgrades and modifications.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and correct equipment malfunctions by troubleshooting, replacing defective parts, making adjustments and repairs, including all required verifications and documentation
- Analyze and correct process defects by inspecting or testing parts, inspecting tooling, adjusting process parameters, valves, switches, controllers etc. as necessary to achieve acceptable parts
- Analyze mold malfunctions by checking cavities, pinch offs, core pins, sprue bushings etc., against blueprints for dimensional tolerance. Disassembles molds, replace parts, and assembles
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring to other associates including operators
- Perform machine maintenance and repair
- Comply with all policies, work instructions, quality regulations, SOP’s, WI, cGMP’s and GDP’s in the effort to manufacture high quality medical devices at all times
- Familiar with using microscopes and magnifiers to complete work instructions
- Completion of daily documentation following cGMP and FDA guidelines
- Meeting or exceeding daily production standards
- Perform in-process quality inspections to standards
- Exhibit safety awareness at all times while adhering to established Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Follow clean room protocols for hygiene, gowning, & PPE
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
- Support and comply with applicable EHS directives and activities
- Train others as required
- Adhere to and ensure compliance of the Company’s Code of Ethics, all company guidelines, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- Quick and efficient changeovers by setting-up molds, machinery and equipment used in the manufacture and packaging of medical devices and components. Responsibility includes changing molds, tooling, resin, adjusting process parameters, machine start-up, first piece inspection, and completing all records, logs and regulatory information
- Facilitate equipment and tooling availability and minimize downtime by proper tool and equipment maintenance
- Maintain effective communication between manufacturing operators, and management
- Continuous development of technical skills by attending training sessions, seminars, and working with other technicians and engineers
- Ability to work overtime, alternate shifts or work schedule as required by business needs

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum level of education/experience required.
- High School/Trade School or GED required
- 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment performing set-up and equipment maintenance required
- Prior molding experience required
Prior medical device manufacturing experience preferred
PLC, Ladder Logic and CNC background preferred.
