Primary Function of Position:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician (IE Workshop) will work in support of manufacturing growth and improvement initiatives.

This role will design, build and install manufacturing support systems such as workstations, manufacturing fixtures, etc.

The candidate may also be assigned to assist manufacturing engineers and/or industrial engineers with implementing physical improvements in manufacturing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Communicate with engineers or other stakeholders to understand requirements for new workstations, racks, fixtures, etc.
• Design solutions and review with stakeholders, build and install the manufacturing support system
• Support the Industrial Engineering team with continuous improvement projects, manufacturing expansions, and other significant factory initiatives
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace
• Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety and production policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

• Experience: Minimum 2 or more years of assembly or similar mechanical experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, write and understand English.

  Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

  Ability to effectively present or communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, supervisors, engineers, etc.

• Mechanical Skills: Use of basic hand tools, measuring tools and power tools including miter saw, drill press, and power screwdrivers.
• Computer skills: Ability to use personal computers as part of daily work.

  Ability to use online documentation.

• CAD experience required.

  Solidworks experience preferred.

• Day shift work schedule with flexibility to support on different schedules when necessary
• Self-starter able to work in a collaborative and results-oriented environment
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts a plus
