Wilton Manufacturing Engineering has Manufacturing Engineering–Contamination Control opportunity available for chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineers with experience in cleanroom operations.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R.

§ 730, et seq.).

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.

Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

The main responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer is to develop the contamination control processes for the factory as a whole, industrialize the existing processes, and support execution within production.

Key tasks & Responsibilities:
Research, test, and implement best practices for cleanroom operations/clean way of working.
Align with larger factory organization, contamination control competency groups, and contamination control design engineers to implement best known methods globally.
Support contamination control escalations in production.
Manufacturing Engineer will split time approx.

30% on the floor (cleanroom), 40% in meetings, 30% performing independent work at desk.

When on the floor activities include working with operations to review processes for improvement ideas, audit processes, and investigate production issues.

Meetings include design feedback meetings, process improvement roadmap meetings, alignment meetings with other factory and/or design representatives, and other ad-hoc tasks.

Independent work at desk includes developing work instructions & creating other master data for production, analyzing new designs for manufacturability, identifying and preparing process improvements, and other ad-hoc tasks.
Education and experience
BS of Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Physics, or equivalent experience.
0-3 years of experience.
(Strong Preference) Experience designing and executing audits, including task closure tracking and action plan creation.
Experience with production automation (Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Robotics, Computer automation).
Experience with optical and/or chemical metrology equipment (SEM, FTIR, Gas Chromatography, Interferometry).
Experience with manufacturing engineering improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, motion study).
Hands on experience with mechanical systems, prior manufacturing environment experience, several machine-shop courses, Formula SAE experience, etc.
Experience with 3D CAD (NX Unigraphics) and/or 2D Drawings (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)).
Experience with technical writing.
Experience with industrial engineering concepts (Cycle Time, Cost of goods/cost of materials, Just in Time Logistics).
Experience with systems engineering concepts (requirements management, requirements validation, Systems
Engineering “V” Model).
Experience in cleanroom operations.
Experience with root cause analysis, troubleshooting (Fishbone, 5-Why Analysis, DMAIC, FMEA, Eight Discipline/8D, Fault Tree Analysis).
Experience with contamination control and/or characterization (particulate and/or molecular contamination).
Task oriented and self-directed, able to stick to timelines and deliver results.
Communication skills.
Comfortable working in a cleanroom/factory environment, needs to be willing to/looking forward to performing hands on work.
Experience with Module Specific Technologies:
Vacuum Systems.
Particulate & Molecular Contamination management (Cleanroom protocols, medical device industry).
Optics & Optical Inspection/cleanliness.
Experience with Software Applications relevant to role:
Matlab, Python, Powershell.
ERP Software (SAP).
Statistical Analysis Software (Minitab).

Responsibilities:
Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Can work under deadlines.
The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
