The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing and implementing improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity) and provide technical support for manufacturing
• Participating and leading cross functional teams as necessary to meet project plans, and objectives
• Actively participating in the development of new products and processes to promote business growth and productivity targets, including scale-up, equipment and process qualification and validation
• Leading and managing Capital projects in conjunction with Division Engineering
• Performing root cause analysis and apply systematic problem-solving skills, using Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies to improve process efficiency and waste reduction
• Supporting a dynamic 24×7 operation through a willingness to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Currently possess or in the last semester of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience in a manufacturing engineer role in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion
• Project management experience
• Experience in developing and managing capital budgets and project completion within time and cost projections
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with leading DMAIC Six Sigma projects – Green Belt or Black Belt Certified, or experience with developing and implementing Lean Systems and Standard Work

Travel: May include up to 5% (Domestic)

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
