We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for process development and improvement of complex electromechanical medical devices that are transitioning from design into manufacturing. This key role requires cross-functional effectiveness both internally and externally with the engineering team, operations team, materials team, customers, and partners.
How will you make a difference?
- Work collaboratively with engineering team to develop robust, production-ready designs
- Develop and maintain bill of materials, line layout, production control methods, clear assembly instructions, fixtures, and pFMEAÂ’s
- Plan, conduct and execute pre-production builds, with a vision for volume production
- Consult with suppliers to determine product specifications, working with supply chain team to purchase equipment, materials, and parts
- Interface with manufacturing partners for all stages of design transfer to ensure products meet performance criteria, delivering a quality product on-time
- Troubleshooting pre-production medical devices and supporting ongoing test efforts
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
- 0 – 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment/academic experience considered
- Previous hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices.
- Knowledge of component forming processes, assembly processes, and production line optimization
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles- (prior experienced preferred)
- Preferred experience in Design for Manufacturability and/or Design Transfer
- Passionate about understanding how things work, and solving tough technical problems
- Proficient in time management
