Manufacturing Engineer

PCE

This is a Contract position in Pembroke Pines, FL posted August 5, 2021.

SUMMARY: Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods which meet product specifications and quality standards.

Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.

Coordinates manufacturing launch for new/revised products.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished
– product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, and interpret procedure manuals, pneumatic and electrical schematics, work instructions, & software manuals.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schematic, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several systematic variables in standardized situations.

Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Must possess problem analysis and resolution skills.

Individuals may need to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and may need to lift up to 50 pounds.

May require time spent on alternate shifts or weekends (overtime) as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Prefer technical training in manufacturing engineering, of factory/plant maintenance.

Prefer experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, & Just-in-Time.

Prefer experience in Injection Molding, Packaging, Assembly, & Printing.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
