Manufacturing Engineer Location: San Dimas, CA (91773) Job ID: 62030 Contract Length: 2 years Please send resumes to Christa Franco at cfrancobutler.com Seeking a highly motivated individual who is responsible for or can demonstrate the following:
• Manage several components of a project or a complex component of a larger project.

• Contributes to the team or department by applying knowledge of one or more functional areas.

• Ability to work without direct guidance or with minimal direction from others.

• Develops and maintains Standard Work processes and procedures necessary for efficient and compliant manufacturing.

• Provides the manufacturing operators with all the necessary tooling, fixtures and documentation to build the product in the most efficient manner which includes working to improve the build processes.

• Controls manufacturing documentation including creating and updating BOM’s, routings, build instructions, labor standards and visual aids.

• Provides technical assistance to production operators including trouble shooting products and equipment within the manufacturing environment.

• Applies lean manufacturing principles and identifies opportunities for process improvements.

Incorporates lean principles in everyday work including: POU, VSM, One Piece Flow, and 5S.

Participates in and can lead Lean events.

• Interfaces daily with Production Control, Project Engineering, Quality Assurance and additional functional areas to resolve product and process related problems and incorporate design changes into manufacturing/
• Functions as a member of an Integrated Product Team on new product introductions.

• Recommends new equipment and processes with the goal of reducing cycle time, labor hours and WIP.

• Demonstrates the ability to manage advanced manufacturing projects/
• Provide status at program meetings (weekly, daily or as needed to meet commitments).

• Must be comfortable accepting ownership of processes and communicating priorities to manufacturing team, while satisfying the needs and concerns of the stakeholders.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
• Must display excellent teamwork and problem solving skills, and have the ability to drive projects to completion.

• 4-8 years of experience with manufacturing circuit card assemblies, electronic assemblies, ultra-high vacuum assemblies, and harness assemblies.

• Continuous Improvement experience including demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing with visual management techniques.

• Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills appropriate for direct interaction with Management & Supplier/Partners.

• Good computer skills in MSOffice applications
• Ability to work in a highly structured environment with frequent customer interactions.

• Must be adaptable to changing priorities.

• Familiar with workmanship standards IPC-A-610, Class 3, J-STD-001 with Space Addendum, and NASA-STD-8739.x).

• Familiar with Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) activities.

• Familiar with fusion welding (GTAW & EB), resistance spot welding, and vacuum furnace brazing highly desired.

• Assist in leading group process improvements using our UTC continuous improvement system (ACE), including the continued development of standard work for program management group processes.

• Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans, must comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.

The FAA Drug & Alcohol program is a special program requiring an additional 5-panel drug screen with training prior to starting their assignment.
