Just look up.Are you ready to go beyond?The positions primary focus is the creation of a centrally operational technology, controls hardware & software specification for all of Pratt and Whitney to utilize. After creation, this role will be to ensure compliance with all Pratt and Whitney sites as well as machine and system suppliers. The position will also create and implement standard deliverables and buy off procedures generated as part of the controls specification and in alignment with all company and project automation goals.This role is key to Pratt & Whitney’s operational transformation. Directly impacting safety, quality, delivery and cost. It will have direct linkage to pervasive lean, process control, automation, new technologies, and connected manufacturing. This will enable our Operations team to deliver on the Operational Excellence (OpX) vision. Key Responsibilities:+ Lead the centralized standardization and expertise for operational technology, controls hardware & software and assist all Pratt & Whitney sites in the application of both standalone machine and integrated systems. + Create and assist in the execution of standard as related to controls hardware. This includes:+ Acceptable component list per application including supplier selection+ Operational Technology network architecture+ WD standardization+ Develop WD Templates+ Create Title Block+ Generic WD with all pages called out + Title Pages+ System Level+ Ethernet+ Facilities+ System Layouts+ Cell Level+ Station Level+ Robot+ Standard Boxes+ Hardwired Components+ Standard engineering procedures and documentation+ Standard best practices, integration procedures and documentation+ Maintenance procedures and Life Cycle Cost calculations+ Training module creation and proficiency level definitions+ Create and assist in the execution of standard as related to controls software. This includes:+ PLC code standardization+ Software Defined Network (SDN) requirements and standardization+ Firewall rule implementation+ Data driver creation and maintenance+ Performance board and HMI screen standardization+ AOI library creation+ Standard engineering procedures and documentation+ Standard best practices, integration procedures and documentation+ Maintenance procedures including rev level standardization+ Training module creation and proficiency level definitions+ Assist with EH&S and throughout our various locations+ Work closely with Shop Operations & Facility Management to implement the standardized controls specification through production integration and create the manufacturing maintenance proficiency.+ Applying expertise to technical problem resolution for current and future projects.+ Communicating at all levels within RTX and Pratt & Whitney, as well as externally, tapping technical resources, forming teams and consulting with programs.+ Meeting all Environmental Health & Safety and Preventative Maintenance requirements associated with manufacturing development.Direct Job Responsibilities Include:The OpX vision is to be a competitive differentiator executing on an operating standard that is culturally pervasive and institutionalized at all levels of Operations, delivering efficiency and unbeatable results every day for our employees, customers and shareholders.+ Work directly with Module Center/Engine Center leadership enabling organizations to identify and prioritize improvement utilizing automation as we transform our industrial footprint.+ Assist the capital procurement process.+ Provide an expert level of understanding of controls standards and execution to all levels of the organization.+ Communicate with business partners both local, remote, internally, and externally.+ Foster open communications with team members to promote a positive work environment.Preferred Qualifications:+ AutoCAD, Eplan Studio 5000 Logix designer, Factory Talk, RS Networks and MS Office Suite, Proview, Ignition.+ Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills; ability to connect with all levels of the organization+ Candidate should be self-starter and able to work with minimal direction+ Extensive experience with controls hardware design utilizing a broad range of components and architectures.+ Extensive experience troubleshooting different component manufactures and applications+ Deep market knowledge of the procurement of controls equipment such as PLC and related communication hardware, pneumatic distribution and design, Electrical engineering.+ Deep understanding of power and communication distribution best practices+ Experience with evaluation and implementation of life cycle cost+ Experience with system software / PLC code development, HMI screen developmentBasic Qualifications:+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in Industrial electrical engineering, Computer/ Software engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline and/or 15+ years of experience in automated systems specifically in manufacturing environments+ US Citizenship required due to government contracts+ The ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance+ Excellent judgment and professional maturity+ The ability to create positive relations and craft clear communication+ Some travel required Raytheon Technologies is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
