Buyer / Purchaser – Marketing / Advertising Manufacturing Company – Base to $70k – Eagan, MN

Our client, who has been in business for 40 plus years, is seeking a Buyer to join their growing team. This role is responsible for determining sourcing methods, stocking levels, and managing daily inventory levels for selected commodities and manufactured assemblies. As well as identifying and developing supply sources in an effort to obtain competitive total cost of material services in a time period that meets business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate supplier contracts.
• Act as primary interface with suppliers for assigned commodities.
• Manage supplier develop, delivery of products and services and supplier certification.
• Research new/alternative sources of supply and provide recommendations to management.
• Continually maintain knowledge of new products and services.
• Daily execution of MRP to determine and release production orders, purchase orders to meet requirements and customer service levels.
• Manage Kanban for assigned commodities.
• Determine appropriate stocking levels and safety stock for assigned commodities.

Requirements:

• At least 2+ years of purchasing/planning experience
• Familiar with ERP and MRP in a manufacturing environment. SAP or similar system.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills and able to translate analysis to recommended actions for improvement

Compensation: Our clients offers a strong salary up ranging from $60k-$70k (flexible depending on experience) plus an annual bonus and a very strong 401k package and health benefits.
