About Us:
Welding Works is a metal fabrication business located along the shoreline, in Madison, CT. We are looking for a versatile person to fill the position of a Machinist.

• Compensation Range: Depends on proficiency of description items.

Candidate must be able to:

• Work independently with minimal supervision/ guidance
• Read drawings/sketches/blueprints understand layouts, and means and methods of manufacturing
• Be able to develop their own tooling, fixtures, and processes necessary to produce quality machined parts
• Inspect parts and identify defective parts, unusual conditions, errors, or operational difficulties and report them to supervisor
• Maintain neat work area and maintain tools and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks
• Safely operate manual machines including vertical and horizontal milling machines, lathes, saws, grinders, drill presses, radial arm drills, tapping heads, hand tools, basic inspection equipment, etc.
• Communicate effectively (in English) both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Mechanical Aptitude- understanding machinery, fit-up/assembly repair and maintenance.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Work independently and be able to monitor/adjust feeds/speeds, inspect in-process parts, and develop machining procedures and fixtures.
• CNC programming (G-Code, M-Code, ProtoTrak SMX) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting 1- 50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.)
• Pushing & pulling 1-50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.)
• Repetitive use of hands and feet required (both right & left)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 – $30.00 per hour
