We are seeking a Full-Time Mobile Crisis Counselor to join our frontline crisis intervention team in Westminster, MD. As a Mobile Crisis Specialist, you will perform assessments and crisis intervention, including de-escalation, crisis planning, implementation, and treatment plans with consumers in the community.

Essential Functions:

• Provide assessment, de-escalation and direct counseling for individuals in Carroll County, wherever the crisis is occurring
• Create and implement a crisis stabilization plan with the purpose of preventing hospitalization
• Work with families and involved persons to de-escalate the situation, make a crisis plan, and enlist cooperation with recommended treatment, including community referrals
• Consult police, fire, ems and other local agencies when applicable
• Educate individuals as a mobile crisis specialist about mental health, substance abuse, available community resources, and the agency’s services
• Abide by all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to confidentiality and protected health information

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field of study (MSW, MA, MS)
• Must possess and maintain current licensure in the state of Maryland (LMSW, LCSW, or LGPC)
• At least one (1) years professional experience (experience working within a crisis environment preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

• LCSW-C or LCPC

• Must be able to work with “high-risk” consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities. Salary: $26.00-$30.00 (depending on licensure and experience)

New hires who show proof of their completed COVID-19 vaccination will earn a sign on bonus on their first paycheck.
