The successful candidate will focus on managing a full supplier base and will be skilled in mining, reporting and communicating data for the purchasing function, reporting to the Manager of Champion Polymer.
CORE RESPONSIBILTIES:* Identify, qualify, develop and manage material suppliers.
* Responsible for soliciting material samples, testing, and interpreting data to grow incoming recycled PP and PE quantities.* In the Champion Manager’s absence, attend and supply reports on material levels and projections for production and manufacturing meetings.* Conduct and maintain all daily work, follow up detail and communicate as necessary with suppliers, staff, other IWT departments and management.* Work with the Quality Department to verify samples meet the required specification.
This includes samples of incoming lots, vendor test materials, and development materials.* Process all paperwork including, but not limited to, vendor samples, research and development, and incoming lot detail for quality.
Prepare purchase orders and timelines for delivery.* Maintains and understands the material inventory process.QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the conversion of plastics, such as grinding, extrusion, and float-sink technologies desired.
Degreed with experience in purchasing post-industrial and/or post-consumer PP and PE is preferred.
