Summary The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities within 150 miles of the installation.

(Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) This position is being used to fill multiple MWR facilities within MWR.

Responsibilities Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.

Receives specific training from the supervisory chef and is evaluated on the basis of demonstrated skill in carving as directed.

Sets up buffet lines, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages; replenishes as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Ability to follow oral and written instructions and possess basic math skills.

Experience as a Food Service Worker desirable.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to follow oral instructions and do assigned repetitive tasks.

Must observe established safety procedures when using knives and other equipment in the performance of duties.

Knowledge of food handling techniques for sanitation and safety purposes is required.

Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite frequent interruptions and distractions.

Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
