SUMMARY: Produce a wide variety of dies, tools, fixtures, gauges, machine parts while possessing the ability to set up and operate multiple types of manual machines while having the ability to step in an operate basis CNC equipment to fill temporary vacancies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, layout construct, alter and repair variety of dies, tools,jigs, fixtures, gauges, machined parts, and a multitude of ” Specialty” and intellectual and or proprietary” devices for the effective and efficient production with this Company’s machining, assembly and manufacturing processes.
Must be able to work from drawings, sketches, specifications, samples and instruction, both verbal and written, while sharing and retrieving information on a regular basis from designers and engineers.
Oral and written communication skills must be strong as must the qualifications and knowledge of all machines within the facility.
A general knowledge is required of heat treating and hardening as well as the properties of a variety of tool steel.
A high degree of skill in tool making and machining along with associated mathematical problem-solving abilities are required.
Create test pieces as directed for customer certification.
Will assist in training of new employees when required.
Will adhere to Companywide safety policies and practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL and/or COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Knowledge of computer operation and related software required.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Operate fork lift truck (will be licensed in accordance with OSHA power industrial truck operator requirements.) OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Detect quantity discrepancies, defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision.
Will complete data transactions where necessary.
Perform changing lubrication, cleaning and maintenance of equipment when necessary.
Will maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
A working knowledge of all job-related Quality Management System operating procedures and work instructions is required.
