MAJOR FOCUS:To create a positive guest experience by accurately completing orders, serving customers, and reconciling customer’s bill for all retail items.
These tasks are to be done in a professional, friendly, helpful, and timely manner resulting in the highest level of guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide the highest level of customer service by greeting every customer in a friendly and courteous manner.Smile, and offer assistance.Know all aspects of lottery ticket sales.Follow all register and cash procedures.Adhere to established discount policies.
Obtain all “void” approvals from management.Be alert, maintain security awareness in the store.Keep the merchandise and all store areas neat, orderly, well stocked and correctly priced.Know and comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.Process sales and enter them accurately into the POS system.Receive payment from the customer and process change.Provide floor moves, housekeeping, display maintenance and replenishing merchandise as needed.Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.Clean shelves, remove trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.Resolve guest complaints or call supervisor to get assistance.Run end of shift procedures.Properly stock and fill all shelves.Maintain uniform standards.Comply with the company’s recycling program standards.Work safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.Follow all relevant policies and procedures.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:High School diploma or equivalent work experience required.Must be able to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system.Must possess good communication skills.Must be able to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.Must present an overall professional appearance.Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as scheduled.Must be able to successfully pass a background check.Must be able to speak, read and write English The above description denotes some of the specific characteristics which are necessary to perform the principal functions of the job and are not intended to be a description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.Dover Downs, Inc.
