Job Description
Performs cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation duties to include dust mopping, wet mopping, broom sweeping, vacuuming and spot cleaning of all interior floor surfaces. Completes cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of toilets, sinks, urinals, mirrors, grab-bars, partitions, wastebaskets and dispensing units.
Services dispensers, holders and containers for toilet paper, paper towels, sanitary napkins, trash, contaminated trash, sharps and gloves. Performs cleaning as needed on walls, doors, windows, tables, chairs, misc. office equipment and furniture pieces.
Assists in the movement of furniture items within campus buildings and residential houses in order to accommodate renovations. Takes furniture items from storage locations to campus buildings and residential houses. Moves furnishings in need of repair to upholstery and/or carpenter shop.
Performs hard-surfaced floor finishing to include machine cleaning and stripping, floor preparation, and the complete hand application of sealer and/or floor finish. Completes machine buffing/polishing of hard floor finishes on a variety of floor surfaces to include terrazzo, tile, rubber, vinyl, and cement floors.
Completes machine power-scrubbing of restroom floor surfaces to clean, sanitize, reduce build-up, and neutralize odors. Completes carpet and upholstery shampooing on a variety of carpeted surfaces, carpeted mats, and
upholstered furniture.
Performs miscellaneous custodial tasks to include shoveling snow, sweeping exterior building entries, spreading ice melt, emptying trash containers, re-hanging window curtains, locking and unlocking doors, vacuuming large water spills/leaks, and preparing furniture/setting up rooms for staff meetings.
The person working in this position will provide natural supports in the work environment for individuals in supported employment in this or related positions.
Work responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Perform as a mentor to individuals in the work environment.
Provide feedback to individuals on job performance.
Provide training in the acquisition of new job skills.
Model socialization in the work environment.
Enhance social integration and acceptance of individuals in the workplace.
Provide feedback and work closely with job coaches and other IDT members to facilitate successful transition to the workplace and job-retention.
SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from high school or HSED (GED).
2) A total of one year of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where one year of full-time experience in commercial building maintenance or housekeeping equals one year of education (maximum of four years).
