We are currently seeking a qualified individual for sport performance and fitness instructors.The Fitness Instructors will work with cadets to help increase physical fitness among the student body.
Under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director, the Fitness Instructor will be tasked with developing the Keelhauler Fit program along with the Assistant Director of Sports Performance, engaging and encouraging cadets on campus to achieve their fitness goals.

A master’s degree in Transportation and Engineering Management is offered as well as a number of extended learning programs and courses.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Sport PerformanceImplement the Keelhauler Fit program using the TeamBuilder app with the assistance of the Assistant Director of Sports Performance.Identify opportunities for group weightlifting and fitness programsManage the Keelhauler weight room during evening business hoursWork with cadets 1-on-1 to meet their fitness goalsMake recommendations on equipment, programs and additional opportunities to grow the program.Fitness InstructorInstruct groups of individuals in fitness activitiesRun 1-2 fitness classes per week on campus or moreDemonstrate proper form and techniqueSet up and breakdown of equipmentEnsure programs are effective, safe and funREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Sport Performance requirements:2+ years working in group fitnessPersonal training experience a plusAbility to organize sessions geared toward college-aged individuals of varying degrees of physical fitnessFitness Instructor requirements:Previous experience as a fitness instructorKnowledge of best practices in and general principles of fitness instructionAbility to train all fitness levelsAbility to organize sessions geared toward college-aged individuals of varying degrees of physical fitnessPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working in higher educationSPECIAL CONDITIONS:PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 50% or more of the activities involve walking, standing, squatting, kneeling or climbing, involves lifting heavy weight objects that may exceed 50 pounds.HOURS of WORK: Available to work evenings and weekends.BACKGROUND CHECK: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check and fingerprinting) is required for employment.
