We are currently seeking experienced airport maintenance personnel to help care for our many facilities and surrounding landscapes.
Ideal candidates have experience working with tools, making repairs, are handy and open-minded.
Project and people management skills would be helpful too.
Join Us!Troubleshoots, diagnoses, operates, repairs, and maintains several types of equipment and systems at the airport.
Conducts maintenance, repairs, and remodels on the airport terminal, parking areas, and rental properties.
Conducts all tasks and duties under supervision in the baggage handling system.
Work performs under general supervision.Essential FunctionsMaintains, repairs, and operates fire detection and suppression systems, baggage handling system, jet bridges, Siemens DDC control panel, and domestic water system.
Performs indoor and outdoor general facility repairs and remodeling activities such as patching, painting, door repairs, ceiling work, electrical maintenance, and system troubleshooting.
Troubleshoots meters and control circuits, security systems, gates on a wide array of mechanical and electrical devices.
Requests assistance on most complex repair issues from lead or supervisor when required.
Upholds all safety standards and procedures when performing tasks to ensure the general public’s safety, coworkers, and self.
Utilizes protective clothing and materials when working with fluids and chemicals.
(70%)Performs administrative tasks for purchasing and repair projects as directed.
Coordinates with supervisors and coworkers to ensure the airport is operational and prioritize upcoming and current projects.
Coordinates with co-workers to offer technical resource ideas and suggestions and makes routine decisions in the absence of an immediate supervisor.(20%)Operates equipment to remove snow from the terminal ramp, general aviation and freight ramps, and taxiways.
Applies sand and de-icing chemicals to ramps, roads, and walkways as required.

Total Percentage = 100%RequirementsRequired Knowledge, Experience, And TrainingRequires education and/or experience to attain the following:Three years of experience performing repairs and maintenance in an industrial or commercial setting, a Journey-level trade license, a High School or GED, and an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Working knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance; complex safety and security systems, baggage handling systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC, and related controls; basic computer skills.Ability to comply with safety and security measures as required in an airport environment; use a variety of hand and power tools; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public, and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance, and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And TrainingFive years of experience in commercial facility maintenance and a specialty trade license.Licensing And Other RequirementsValid driver’s license.SIDA Badge.Airport Driver’s Permit.Special RequirementsAll applicants must successfully pass the City of Boise background check processes which include reference checks and criminal history checks.Applicants must be able to pass, or have:Driving Record CheckTransportation Security Administration background check (SIDA)Working ConditionsThe physical effort characteristics and working environment described here represent those employee encounters while performing this job’s essential functions.
