Description:Job Summary:-In this role, you will develop and implement cost-effective, lean processes for assembling and testing products in manufacturing and new product introduction projects.-Working closely with cross functional teams in production and with our suppliers, you will drive continuous improvements in current processes and products to meet Global Quality Metrics.Job Responsibilities:-Improve Internal & External Quality-Provide technical support to Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) team as needed to achieve direct material savings goal-Achieve quality metrics and meet schedule for New Product Introduction (NPI) project as Manufacturing Engineering Lead as needed-Reporting structure: Reports to Manager, Manufacturing Engineering-Development Opportunities: DBS Tool Set (SWK, VSM, FMEA, PSP)-Drive product quality improvement through process development and design changes internally and with suppliers-Utilize lean tools such as Standardized Work, PSP, and Waste Elimination in driving process improvements to improve efficiency-Utilize effective problem solving techniques to define problems, determine root causes, verify and implement countermeasures, and sustain results-Support daily production relative to build (process) and quality issues-Support evaluation and implementation of Engineering Changes-Assist VAVE team in evaluating and validating cost saving improvements-Drive quality and schedule in NPI projectDaily Breakdown:-75% Improving tooling and fixtures within SolidWorks-25% Investigation into improvement manufacturing processesMUST:-Engineering Degree This is highly preferred, as if they do want to convert someone down the road, they need to have the degree.-5+ years of experience within a manufacturing based setting-Experience with managing manufacturing processes and driving change/process improvement-Ability to develop designs to improve tooling and fixtures-Ability to take part and lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives-Ability to think critically and solve high-level problems within manufacturing-Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions-Ability to utilize SolidWorks to create tooling and fixture designs/improvementsPLUS:-Experience working with industrial equipment-Six Sigma CertificationSkills:Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, Process Improvement, Manufacturing Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, Process Change, Tooling, Fixture, SolidWorksAdditional Skills & Qualifications:EngineeringExperience Level:Entry Level About Actalent:Actalent connects passion with purpose.
